Last updated: February 25, 2026

We are Pratik Kumar Jain d/b/a Recon ("Company," "we," "us," "our"). We operate the Recon website (https://askrecon.com) and the Recon web application (the "App"), as well as other related products and services that reference these legal terms (collectively, the "Services").

You can contact us at support@askrecon.com.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Our Services

Recon is an AI investigation platform that lets non-technical team members query databases, codebases, project management tools, and documentation using natural language. It is designed for internal business use within organizations. Access from other jurisdictions is at your own initiative and you are responsible for local law compliance.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

The Services are offered via subscription plans, including:

  • Solo Plan: $19/month (1 member, 1,000 investigations/month)
  • Team Plan: $39/month (5 members, 3,000 investigations/month)
  • Business Plan: $99/month (20 members, 10,000 investigations/month)

All purchases, billing, renewals, and refunds are processed through Stripe. We do not directly store your payment card information. For billing questions, contact support@askrecon.com.

3. Free Trial & Usage Limits

New accounts receive 50 free investigations with no time limit. After the free investigation limit is reached, a paid subscription is required to continue using the Services. Free trial terms may change at our discretion.

4. Auto-Renewal & Cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your Recon dashboard or by contacting support@askrecon.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Pricing & Taxes

Prices may change in the future. We will notify you before any price increase applies to your next renewal. Displayed prices may exclude taxes; applicable taxes may be added as required by law.

6. API Keys & Third-Party Services

Recon operates on a bring-your-own-API-key (BYOK) model. You may provide your own API keys (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) to power AI investigations.

  • Your responsibility: You are responsible for securing your API keys, complying with the terms of service of the third-party API providers, and any costs incurred through your API key usage.
  • Our handling: API keys you provide are encrypted at rest and used solely to execute your investigations. We do not share, sell, or use your API keys for any other purpose.
  • Third-party terms: Your use of third-party services through Recon is subject to those providers' terms of service and usage policies, including:
    • Clerk — authentication and user account management
    • Anthropic — AI model provider
    • OpenAI — AI model provider (optional BYOK)
    • Supabase — database infrastructure
    • Stripe — billing and payments
    • E2B — sandboxed code execution
    • Vercel — hosting and analytics

7. Intellectual Property Rights

We own or license all intellectual property in the Services, including source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, text, photographs, and graphics ("Content"), and the trademarks, service marks, and logos ("Marks"). Content and Marks are provided "as is" for your internal business use.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the Services for internal business use. Any other use requires our prior written permission. Requests: support@askrecon.com.

8. User Representations

By using the Services, you represent that:

  • You have legal capacity and agree to these Terms;
  • You are at least 18 years old;
  • You will not access via automated or non-human means except as expressly permitted;
  • You will not use the Services for illegal or unauthorized purposes;
  • You have authorization to connect the databases, repositories, and third-party tools you integrate with Recon; and
  • Your use complies with applicable laws and regulations.

9. Prohibited Activities

  • Data scraping or compiling databases without written permission;
  • Security circumvention or interference with features;
  • Attempting to use Recon to write, modify, or delete data in connected systems (Recon is read-only by design);
  • Connecting systems or databases you do not have authorization to access;
  • Harassment, abuse, or harmful use of obtained information;
  • Uploading malware or harmful code;
  • Automated use, robots, spiders, or scraping tools;
  • Impersonation or account selling/transferring;
  • Reverse-engineering or creating a competing product;
  • Sharing investigation results that contain confidential data in violation of your organization's policies;

10. User Generated Contributions

Users may input investigation queries, connect data sources, and generate investigation results ("Contributions"). Users retain ownership of their Contributions but grant us a license to host, process, store, transmit, and display them to operate and improve the Services in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your Contributions and their legality.

11. Contribution License

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, host, store, process, transmit, and display Contributions as needed to provide and improve the Services. Feedback may be used without restriction or compensation.

12. Data Access & Read-Only Operations

  • Read-only design: Recon is designed to operate in read-only mode. Investigations query and retrieve data from your connected systems but do not write, modify, or delete data.
  • Sandboxed execution: All investigations run in isolated, ephemeral sandbox environments (powered by E2B). Sandboxes are destroyed after each investigation.
  • Your connected systems: You are responsible for ensuring that the credentials and connection details you provide grant appropriate (ideally read-only) access levels. Recon is not responsible for misconfigured access permissions.
  • No guarantee of isolation from third-party systems: While Recon operates read-only, the AI models powering investigations interact with third-party APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI). Your data is subject to those providers' data handling practices.

13. Services Management

We may monitor, remove, or restrict content, and manage the Services to protect our rights and ensure proper operation.

14. Term and Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason, including violations. You may terminate by canceling your subscription from your dashboard or contacting support@askrecon.com.
